Here at Columbia Heights, we believe church is more than just a place to volunteer. It’s a place to grow in faith, build relationships, and be part of a community. That’s why we operate as an “attend one, serve one” church. We ask every volunteer to attend a service on the day they serve so that serving flows out of being spiritually filled, connected, and encouraged alongside the church family.
We also believe that consistent church attendance helps strengthen and grow our faith. Serving is important, but so is simply being present in community, worshipping together, learning together, and growing together. Because of that, we encourage our volunteers to attend regularly, even on weeks they may not be scheduled to serve.
To help create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone, every team at Columbia Heights, from First Impressions to Kid Heights, requires a background check before serving. We also ask that everyone attend one of our Welcome Lunches before joining a team. This gives you the chance to learn more about the heart, vision, and culture of our church while helping us get to know you better as well.
We’re so thankful for every person who chooses to serve and be part of what God is doing through our church community.
We believe all teaching should find its source in the Bible, God’s written word for us. Our aim is not to help children become better behaved, but to become more Gospel literate. Just like we expect to learn about basketball when we sign-up to play on a basketball team, we too believe that kids should learn what the Bible has to say about Jesus and living for Him when they show up to church.y clicking on it.
A Youth ministry dedicated to reaching the teens in our community. We are continually becoming a youth church led by teenagers, for teenagers through loving Jesus and showing His love. We are all about connecting with young people, experiencing authentic worship, and hearing a message from the Word of God that will inspire young people to live boldly for Jesus.
The Worship & Production Team exists to help create spaces where people can encounter God in a meaningful and distraction-free way by serving both on stage and behind the scenes during our gatherings. From worship and message moments to sound, lighting, cameras, visuals, and livestream, we work together to support everything that happens so that people can engage with Jesus clearly and fully.

Here at Columbia Heights our mission is to reach people by making disciples of Jesus. We believe that community involvement changes lives. This is a part of the culture of who we are–we are passionate to reach the lost. Because of this, we have created opportunities for our church to become people who live out the Gospel, and tell the Gospel to our neighbors.
Our Campus & Ministry Team helps make ministry happen all throughout the week, not just on Sundays. From office help and organizing spaces to event setup, teardown, and decorating, this team jumps in wherever needed. Every task helps create welcoming environments and supports the ministries of our church in practical ways. If you have a flexible schedule, enjoy staying busy, and love serving behind the scenes, this is a great team to be part of.
